We Loved This Multi-Tool So Much, We Bought the Company
It started with a Kickstarter project that caught our attention. It ended with Adventure Mate becoming part of DMOS.
When we first saw the Adventure Mate Mega Multi-Tool, we immediately liked the idea behind it. Six useful outdoor tools packed into one compact system seemed like exactly the kind of product that would appeal to DMOS customers.
So we wanted to know more.
We connected with the designer behind Adventure Mate, learned the story behind the product and eventually got our hands on one to put it to use ourselves.
The more time we spent with it, the more we liked it.
Adventure Mate combines an axe, saw, shovel, hammer, hook and entrenching tool into one portable system. Two interchangeable heads connect to a common handle using a patented cam-locking design, and the entire kit packs down into a waterproof storage bag.
It's a clever solution to a problem anyone who camps or travels off-road knows well: you want to be prepared, but you only have so much room for gear.
And that's where the connection to DMOS became pretty obvious.
It Felt Like a DMOS Product
DMOS customers love innovation, particularly when a smart design can deliver a big benefit in a compact form.
That's been part of our approach to shovels from the beginning. We wanted the capability of a serious shovel without having a traditional full-size shovel taking up valuable space in or on your vehicle.
Adventure Mate approaches things a little differently, but we saw the same kind of thinking behind it.
Instead of asking you to find room for an axe, saw, shovel, hammer and other tools, Adventure Mate asked a better question: how many of those jobs can we handle with one well-designed system?
After meeting the designer, learning more about how Adventure Mate came to be and testing the tool ourselves, we started talking about what it could look like as part of DMOS.
Those conversations eventually turned into something bigger.
Adventure Mate Joins the Family
Adventure Mate is now officially part of DMOS Pro Shovel Tools and the Allsop family of brands.
The 6-in-1 Mega Multi-Tool will continue to be available through AdventureMate.com, and you'll also find it alongside our products at DMOSProShovelTools.com.
For us, this isn't simply about adding another product to the website. We see an opportunity to build on what Adventure Mate started and explore new products that bring the same kind of smart, space-saving thinking to camping and overlanding.
